Frequently Asked Questions

How does a pool salt chlorinator work?

A salt chlorinator requires the pool owner or user to add salt to the pool. The device then transforms this salt into sodium hypochlorite (natural chlorine) via an electrolysis process. The bacteria, algae and fungi in the water are then destroyed by this substance, which disinfects the water. Sodium hypochlorite turns back into salt when it is exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun, once its role as a disinfectant has finished. It therefore has an almost infinite cycle requiring very little action.
