Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best practices for installing and maintaining a pool heat pump?

Here, we describe the best practices for installation and maintenance of your pool heat pump:

For installation of your pool heat pump:

  • Select an appropriate position for the heat pump, making sure it is not too far from the pool to avoid heat losses.
  • Make sure that the heat pump is installed at least 2 metres from the pool to avoid any contact with the water.
  • A plant room or any other enclosed environment is not a suitable location for a heat pump, because good ventilation is required.
  • Make sure the heat pump is installed at a suitable distance from all obstacles and at least 50 cm from walls (or less for certain specific models).
  • Place the heat pump on a stable, slightly elevated surface.
  • The heat pump must always be installed on anti-vibration mounts (provided with the heat pump).
  • You will need to take into account the configuration of your area to reduce the impact of the heat pump on your neighbours as much as possible.

For regular maintenance of your heat pump:

  • Consult the maintenance guide supplied with your heat pump and follow its recommendations.
  • Regularly clean the outside of the heat pump and the protective grill to eliminate dust, dead leaves and twigs that may block the air circulation.
  • Use a soft brush to clean the evaporator and remove debris from the fan.
  • Clean the back of the appliance twice a year with a cloth and soapy water.
  • Get a professional to perform regular checks of the watertightness, electrical connections, the level of refrigerant, flow of condensate, etc.
  • Clean the condensate evacuation pipe and the ventilation grill to eliminate dirt and debris.
